Daniel Dubois’ trainer reveals if there will be a party before Fabio Wardley fight after ‘internal inquest’
Daniel Dubois’ trainer, Don Charles, insists there will be no pre-fight party for his pupil’s domestic dust-up with Fabio Wardley on Saturday night.
Before ‘Triple D’s’ last outing with Oleksandr Usyk in July, a gathering was held at the boxer’s house, with around 70 people showing up.

Dubois did not arrive at Wembley Stadium until 8:15pm – less than two hours before his ring walk.
According to reports, Dubois was made to walk from the car park and was then delayed in entering the stadium whilst his father attempted to get members of his entourage past security.
He was subsequently stopped in the fifth round, dropping his IBF heavyweight title in the process.
A similar gathering was hosted at his home before a career-best knockout victory over Anthony Joshua nine months prior.
But following an ‘internal inquest’ by his team, Dubois and Co. have decided to save their celebrations until after the bout.
“It’s not ideal to have a gathering on the day of the fight,” Charles told the BBC.
“I’m not here to justify, but they did the same gathering prior to the Joshua fight – that gave birth to the ringwalk.
“They tried to replicate that, but it didn’t work. I can guarantee there will be no gathering before this fight.”
During an apperance on talkSPORT shortly after the Usyk fight, Dubois refused to blame his performance on the party and took full responsibility for the defeat.
What did Daniel Dubois say about the party?
“No, it worked. The first time with AJ and things like that,” said Dubois.

“But I don’t even want to talk about that too much.
“That’s not why anything went wrong in the fight. I look at myself and look at what I could have done better.
“But, yeah, it worked the first time with AJ. It’s a whole new beginning for me, moving forward.
“Now, I have to change and get it right…
“I came up against one of the best boxers in the world, and a southpaw in that.
“Yes, I could have done better, but this is how it goes sometimes.
“I don’t feel deflated or defeated in myself; I just need to learn about myself and improve myself.”
