Cubs fans’ Wrigley Field ‘Dodgers ruined baseball’ plane diss epically fails

The Los Angeles Dodgers are set to take on the Chicago Cubs on Tuesday, with Tarik Skubal scheduled to make his debut with his new team. Hours before the start of the contest, a plane soared over Wrigley Field with a message dissing L.A. Unfortunately, it didn’t go as planned.

An unknown Cubs fan paid for a small plane to fly over Wrigley Field with a message reading “The Dodgers ruined baseball,” as a way to call out the franchise for acquiring Skubal via trade. But the letters were completely backwards and scrambled, making it a bit difficult to read.

While at least one Cubs fan is upset about the moves Los Angeles has made in recent years, new Dodgers star Tarik Skubal said out loud that he does not feel any sympathy for fans being irked by L.A. acquiring him via trade. For a league that doesn’t technically have a salary cap, the Dodgers are the only ones making the big moves necessary to completely load up the roster.

MLB will be discussing a new CBA, and one of the topics is the potential to implement a salary cap and floor. The deadline for the new CBA is December 1, 2026. There has been speculation that the 2027 season could be a lockout year. But only time will tell.

Regardless, the front office pulled off a deal to land the 29-year-old left-hander to improve the odds of winning yet another World Series title. Dodgers fans will see Tarik Skubal in a Dodgers uniform on the mound for the first time on Tuesday against the Cubs. The contest begins at 8:05 p.m. EST.
