Rob and Michele Reiner’s kids Jake and Romy throw first pitch at Dodgers game

Jake and Romy Reiner honored their late parents, Rob and Michele Reiner, at a recent Los Angeles Dodgers game by throwing the first pitch.

Jake shared a sweet tribute to his late parents via X and added photos of him and his sister on the mound during the Chicago Cubs game on Monday, August 3.

“The Dodgers have always been a huge part of our family. My dad and I could talk baseball for hours and I truly never felt closer to him than when we’d watch games together,” Jake wrote on X. “Dodger Stadium is a place we’d love to come to as a family. Romy and I wanted to honor our mom and dad by throwing out a ceremonial first pitch for each of them. We’re grateful the Dodgers helped make this moment so special.”

Rob and Michele died on December 14, 2025, inside their Brentwood home in Los Angeles, California. According to their death certificates per Page Six, they died within “minutes” via “multiple sharp force injuries” with a “knife, by another.”

Jake broke his silence on the death of his parents in a Substack essay back in April. He recalled getting the call from his sister Romy about their deaths.

“I was in Union Station at a celebration of life for one of my best friends, Christian Anderson, who died in October,” Jake wrote. “It was at that moment I received a call from my sister Romy telling me our father was dead. Minutes later, she called back telling me our mother was also dead.”

He continued: “The 45-minute Lyft ride from downtown to the west side was unendurable. My world, as I knew it, had collapsed. I was in a trance. The only thing I could focus on was that I needed to get to my childhood home. I needed to get to my sister. I needed to figure out what the hell just happened.”

The New York Times reported at the time that Romy was contacted by a massage therapist who was scheduled to arrive at her parents’ home but could not get into the property. She arrived at the home and discovered her father’s body, and later a paramedic told her that Michele had been killed after she allegedly “fled” after discovering her deceased father first.

The couple — who wed in May 1989 — younger’s son 32-year-old Nick was arrested as the prime suspect in the murder of his 78 year-old father and 70 year-old mother.

Nick was charged with two separate charges for first-degree murder with special circumstances, including the use of a knife. He pleaded not guilty in February and is currently being held at the Twin Towers Correctional Facility in Los Angeles. If convicted, it’s possible that he could face life in prison without parole or the death penalty.
