Cowboys’ Jerry Jones declares ‘every kind of trade possible’ right before draft

The Dallas Cowboys are one of a handful of teams with multiple first-round picks in the 2026 NFL Draft, making them one of the most likely trade candidates. Jerry Jones only continues to add fuel to that fire by admitting he is fielding calls before the night in question.

Jones has hinted at potential trades before and admitted that “every kind of trade is possible, including players and draft picks” the day before the draft, according to ESPN’s Todd Archer. He revealed that he has received multiple trade offers and is weighing his options as the event quickly approaches.

Jones added that trade packages are “usually better coming in,” per Jon Machota of ‘The Athletic,’ revealing that he has received calls but not made any offers of his own.

Dallas currently has pick No. 12 and No. 20 in the first round of the 2026 NFL Draft. Jones acquired the No. 20 pick from the Green Bay Packers, courtesy of the blockbuster Micah Parsons deal during the 2025 offseason.

While Jones seemingly admitted that any player on his team could be on the trade block, he already has a few primary candidates, namely star wideout George Pickens. Dallas placed Pickens on a franchise tag early in the offseason, despite his open plea for a lucrative long-term deal.

The Cowboys have more than a few roster holes to fill after going 7-9-1 in 2025. Yet, for the second consecutive offseason, they appear content to run it back and pray for better health in 2026, even considering Jones’ recent cryptic comments.
