Collin Murray-Boyles can’t help but smile after playoff breakout vs. Cavs

The Toronto Raptors evened the series up at two games apiece in their opening round playoff series against the Cleveland Cavaliers, and helping lead the way was rookie forward Collin Murray-Boyles who has been having an incredible postseason for his first go-round.

Following the Raptors’ Game 4 win against the Cavs, Collin Murray-Boyles spoke about the feeling of being able to make an impact in the playoffs as a rookie, as per Josh Lewenberg of TSN Sports.

“Just cherishing the moment,” Murray-Boyles said. “When the crowd is in it and everybody is on their feet, the energy is just, I don’t know, I’ve never felt anything like it. It makes me smile, just being able to be a part of this.”

Murray-Boyles finished with 15 points in the Raptors’ Game 4 win. He was the team’s fourth leading scorer behind 23 points each from Brandon Ingram and Scottie Barnes, and then 18 points from RJ Barrett. He also added 10 rebounds, three assists and two steals in 27 minutes of play. He shot 5-of-11 from the field and 5-of-7 from the free-throw line.

Coming into Game 4, Murray-Boyles had been averaging 17.7 points, 6.3 rebounds and 2.3 assists with splits of 72.7 percent shooting from the field and 83.3 percent shooting from the free-throw line. That’s a huge jump from the regular season when he was averaging 8.5 points and shooting 57.9 percent from the field.

He’s managed to carve out a role for himself as a solid reserve after the Raptors selected him with the No. 9 overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft. During the regular season, Murray-Boyles played in 57 games, including 22 starts, at a little over 21 minutes per game.
