Bucks’ Giannis Antetokounmpo reacts to F1 shoutout after Monaco Grand Prix
It has been an eventful summer for Milwaukee Bucks forward Giannis Antetokounmpo, and no, it has nothing to do with the seemingly endless trade rumors surrounding him.
Antetokounmpo recently attended the Champions League Final in Hungary, even displaying his football skills in a friendly match at Puskas Arena a day after Paris Saint-Germain won the title over Arsenal via penalty shootout, 4-3.
On Sunday, the two-time MVP was present at the Monaco Grand Prix of Formula 1. He was visibly thrilled to wave the chequered flag in the annual race.
“@giannis_an34 does the honors at one of F1’s most iconic venues,” read the post on Instagram.
The 31-year-old Antetokounmpo expressed his gratitude for the memorable opportunity.
“What an honor! I had so much fun. Thank you!

Fans were happy to see an NBA star soaking in the experience in Formula 1.
“Giannis at the Monaco GP wasn’t on my BINGO card, but seeing one superstar celebrate another sport is always cool to see,” said @jays_art_ii.
“I don’t mind this. I think it is great that other sports are supporting racing,” echoed @SourdoughF88856.
“Don’t know him, but at least he waves the flag good,” wrote @aniszlee.
“Support goes a long way,” added @VictorTemi4.
“The Greek Freak crossing over to motorsport?” posted @Mister_Hammed.
Antetokounmpo was also spotted hanging out with Mercedes driver Kimi Antonelli and team principal Toto Wolff.
The 10-time All-Star is enjoying his free time before seriously pondering his future. Multiple teams are interested in trading for Antetokounmpo, including the Boston Celtics, the Miami Heat, the Oklahoma City Thunder, the Cleveland Cavaliers, and the Orlando Magic, among others.
