LSU football’s Lane Kiffin sends a message with 2-point conversion try up 41 vs. Clemson

LSU football put on a masterclass against Clemson in their season opener, and it felt like head coach Lane Kiffin was trying to send a message. Already up 41 points late in the third quarter, Kiffin decided to keep the offense on the field for a 2-point conversion attempt, and though they didn’t convert, it still showed how savage it was for them to even go for it in the first place.

There’s no doubt that Kiffin was coaching with some type of chip on his shoulder, especially when thinking about all that’s gone on this past week about the SEC not wanting them to add pro players to their roster. Kiffin even made a comment about the situation at halftime when LSU was up 31-3.

“Imagine if we had pro players,” Kiffin said to ESPN.

Other than that, Kiffin has been under much scrutiny before that with his decision to leave Ole Miss during last season to join LSU. It seems like he’s been handling everything fine, and at the end of the day, he feels like he made the best decision for himself.

“I’ve built my life about pushing out of comfort,” Kiffin said. “That may not be for everybody and that’s fine. But this job has really pushed me out of comfort. Everyone talks about the pressure of LSU and what comes with that. I enjoyed it.”

So far, LSU is off to a good start, and all eyes will be on them for the remainder of the season, but they have the roster to overcome anything.
