Browns’ Jerry Jeudy shares ‘about time’ comment amid QB battle

The Cleveland Browns are still wrestling with a fascinating quarterback battle between Deshaun Watson and Shedeur Sanders. For wide receiver Jerry Jeudy, though, the biggest thing right now has nothing to do with uncertainty. In fact, it is the exact opposite. Speaking during Wednesday’s OTAs, Jeudy offered a revealing “about time” reaction when discussing the rare continuity currently present inside Cleveland’s quarterback room.

After enduring a turbulent 2025 season that featured constant offensive adjustments, Watson’s injury complications, and Sanders’ late emergence, Jeudy admitted the familiarity heading into 2026 feels refreshing.

“About time,” Jeudy joked when asked about having returning quarterbacks. “Yeah, for a receiver, it’s always good to be able to have your quarterback consistent years. That’s only going to help you build chemistry.”

The comments arrive as Todd Monken begins implementing a more aggressive offensive system. For Jeudy, that continuity could not arrive at a better moment. Drafted 15th overall by the Denver Broncos in 2020 out of Alabama, Jeudy flashed elite route-running ability throughout his first four NFL seasons. That was before finally exploding after his 2024 trade to Cleveland.

That year, he shattered the Browns’ single-season franchise record with 90 receptions while piling up 1,229 receiving yards and earning his first Pro Bowl nod. However, the instability of 2025 dramatically disrupted his momentum. He finished with just 50 catches for 602 yards and two touchdowns amid Cleveland’s revolving quarterback carousel.

Now entering his seventh NFL season, Jeudy appears optimistic that familiarity with Watson, Sanders, and Dillon Gabriel will restore offensive rhythm.

“Being able to have Deshaun and Shedeur back this year and Dillon, all those guys that I played with last year, is a great feeling,” Jeudy said. “You don’t get that too often.”
