Brawl Stars Penny Guide – Best Setup For Super Rare Brawler
In this Brawl Stars Penny guide, we’ll take a look at her attacks, stats, and skills and create the best build possible. Penny is a long range brawler who can cause a lot of damage if her enemies are lined up just perfectly. Without further ado, let’s take a look at Penny.
Brawl Stars Penny Guide – How To Unlock
To unlock Penny in Brawl Stars, players can:
- Unlock her on Trophy Road
- Unlock her from a Mega Box (0.5% chance)
- *Players may also unlock Penny from rarer Drops like Sushi Rolls or Angelic/Demonic Drops
You’ll most likely unlock Penny on Trophy Road, though it’ll take a bit of time. Grinding trophies to earn her may take awhile, and you may need to play with several brawlers to rack up trophies.
Brawl Stars Penny Guide – Attacks & Stats Per Level
Penny’s Main Attack, Plunderbuss, is a long-range attack where she shoots a projectile at her enemy. While the attack itself doesn’t pierce, three more projectiles get spread out of the main attack if it lands on an enemy or target. These additional projectiles deal a portion of the damage of the main attack, but together can deal a massive amount of pain. It works extremely well in hot zone, especially if the enemies are clumped together.
Penny’s Super, Old Lobber, lets her spawn a cannon that attacks enemies from a long distance. Furthermore, its cannonballs leave an area of effect that burns enemies who stand on it. However, despite its range, the cannon bears a slow reload speed.
Furthermore, Penny’s Hypercharge, New Lobber, lets her Cannon fire off two cannonballs instead of one.
Additionally, take a look at Penny’s stats (These are Penny’s stats as of May 2026. All Stats are subject to changes and may not be reflected here):

Brawl Stars Penny Guide – Which Star Powers & Gadgets are the best?
Overall, Penny has two gadgets:
- Salty Barrel – “Penny drops a barrel of salt that blocks enemy projectiles. She can also use it to burst her own gold pouches.”
- Trust Spyglass – “Penny’s cannon blasts at every visible enemy position within range.”
Additionally, Penny has two Star Powers:
- Heavy Coffers – “Penny’s gold pouches burst with a 100% wider cone after each hit.”
- Master Blaster – “Penny’s cannon deals damage and knocks back nearby enemies on landing.”
Furthermore, Penny can use the following gears in battle:
- Speed
- Vision
- Health
- Shield
- Damage
- Gadget Cooldown
Brawl Stars Penny Guide – Recommended Star Power, Gadget, & Gear Setup
For Gadgets, we recommend Salty Barrel because it provides some much needed defense as well as a way to burst out her gold pouches. Each hit on her barrel deals minimal damage, ensuring her little barrier stays up longer. However, just be wary of Poco, EMZ, Taras, and other piercing brawlers who can still hit you.
For Star Powers, we recommend Heavy Coffers because you can take advantage of it more often. Master Blaster is very situational, only working in somewhat rare moments. However, Heavy Coffers provides you with more spread on your coins, making it a must-have for Hot Zone and Gem Grab.
For Gears, we recommend a Damage and Shield Gear. These are our go-to gears for most Brawlers as they provide offensive and defensive boosts. And Penny’s Gadgets aren’t useful enough to warrant a Gadget Cooldown Gear.
*At the time of writing, Penny does possess an Epic Gear that boosts her Pet Power. We definitely recommend using this, but keep in mind that Supercell plans to remove these gears in future updates. Therefore, we can’t really recommend it.
Brawl Stars – Which Modes Should You Use Penny In (And Which Modes You Shouldn’t)
Hot Zone
Penny’s Cannon and main attack make her a beast in Hot Zone. She can wipe out all of the enemies in the zone with a few well placed shots. Furthermore, her cannon can keep pressure on the zone, making it tough for enemies to survive in there.
Gem Grab
Once again, Penny’s main attack and Cannon make her a very viable brawler in this mode. If you’re lucky enough to see all brawlers lined up, you can wipe them out in moments. However, she’s not a great gem carrier because her health isn’t too high and her movement speed is normal.
Duo/Trio Showdown
Penny’s ability to pierce boxes and enemies with her attack makes her a good choice for this mode. She can destroy boxes quickly, helping her and her teammates grow in strength. Furthermore, since enemies in this mode stick together, she’ll be able to make good use of her main attack’s spread.
Brawl Stars Penny Guide – What Mode(s) Should I NOT Use Penny In?
Bounty/Knockout/Wipeout
Despite her long range, Penny doesn’t feel like a great pick here. Her cannon will struggle aiming for (or may not even reach) its target. Furthermore, enemies tend to spread out in this mode, making it hard for her to make good use of the coin spread. Overall, she won’t have an easy time taking enemies down.
Overall, that wraps up our Brawl Stars Penny Guide!
