If you’re fortunate enough to land a top-five pick in your 2026 fantasy football draft, don’t overthink Bijan Robinson. Take him.

The Atlanta Falcons superstar enters the 2026-27 NFL season as arguably the best running back in football, and everything about Kevin Stefanski’s offense suggests Robinson could be headed for the biggest statistical season of his career.

ESPN has Robinson ranked as its RB1 entering the season. He belongs in the conversation for the No. 1 overall fantasy selection as well.

Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Puka Nacua, Ja’Marr Chase and Jahmyr Gibbs will all receive consideration at the top of drafts. Christian McCaffrey will inevitably have believers, especially among 49ers fans. But Robinson has the combination fantasy managers should crave: elite talent, enormous volume and receiving upside.

Let’s start with the workload. Robinson should receive somewhere between 285 and 315 carries if he remains healthy. At his talent level, that should put 1,300 rushing yards well within reach. Though the real target should be 1,500.

Stefanski has consistently shown a willingness to build his offense around the running game when he has the personnel to do so. Now he gets Robinson, a back capable of turning ordinary rushing opportunities into explosive plays.

Then there’s the receiving production.

Robinson has continued developing as a pass catcher throughout his NFL career, and there’s no reason for that progression to stop now. Whether Tua Tagovailoa or Michael Penix Jr. is throwing the football, Robinson should be one of the quarterback’s best friends.

Predicting somewhere between 65 and 85 receptions isn’t unreasonable. That’s where Robinson separates himself from many other fantasy running backs. Even when Atlanta is trailing and forced to throw, he doesn’t disappear from the offense. He can rack up points on checkdowns, screens, and designed routes while remaining capable of breaking a short reception into a massive gain.

In PPR formats, that’s fantasy gold.

Bijan Robinson could set a career high in touchdowns

The biggest opportunity for improvement comes in the touchdown department.

Robinson’s touchdown production dipped last season, but that shouldn’t scare fantasy managers away. Touchdowns can fluctuate dramatically from year to year, and his projected workload should create plenty of opportunities near the goal line.

Don’t be surprised if Robinson approaches 15 total touchdowns in 2026.

Put everything together — potentially 300 carries, 1,500 rushing yards, 70-plus receptions and double-digit touchdowns — and we’re talking about a player capable of finishing as the highest-scoring non-quarterback in fantasy football.

More importantly, Atlanta’s uncertain quarterback situation might actually help him.

The Falcons have Drake London, who should remain one of the NFL’s premier receivers, but there are questions under center with Tagovailoa and Penix. Stefanski doesn’t need to make life complicated.

Give Robinson the football. Then give it to him again. Fantasy managers are always searching for the player who combines a massive floor with league-winning upside. Robinson checks both boxes.

Of course, no running back is completely safe. Injuries happen, offensive lines struggle, and touchdown totals can be unpredictable. But fantasy football is ultimately about betting on talent and opportunity. Nobody has to convince us Robinson has the talent. And under Stefanski, he should have all the opportunity he can handle.

Fantasy drafts are happening now and will continue right up until the New England Patriots and Seattle Seahawks kick off the season. If you’re staring at Robinson anywhere between the third and fifth selections, consider yourself lucky.

If you’re staring at him with the No. 1 pick, don’t be afraid to make him the first name off the board. Robinson isn’t merely an RB1. He has everything necessary to become the player who wins fantasy leagues in 2026.
