But a scary scene emerged when a Jets player was carted off the field and into an ambulance with an IV drip.

That player was later confirmed to be cornerback Qwan’tez Stiggers.

According to Jets head coach Aaron Glenn, Stiggers came to the sideline after a play where he collapsed.

He was placed on a stretcher and given an IV before being transported by ambulance to the hospital.

The under-fire Glenn did update on the status of the 24-year-old who he said ‘passed out’ but was conscious and talking soon after the concerning incident.

“Stiggers, from what I know, he came to the sideline after a play and he actually fell,” Glenn said.

“The good thing is, he was conscious, and our guys did a hell of a job, just like most medical staffs around this league do in situations like that, and they took the necessary steps just to make sure we do everything we can to be on board when it comes to those situations.

“He was able to talk. I want to make sure I go and see him after this, just so I’m sure I’m good with everything, but for the most part he was good.”

Practice was halted for 10 minutes or so, but eventually got back underway.

Speaking after practice, Jets veteran defensive tackle Harrison Phillip shared a positive update, and told reporters, “What’s been shared to us is things are on the up and up.”

“It was very sad. Very emotional,” Jets running back Breece Hall added. “You get on your knee and say a prayer for him and hope he’s OK. …

“I didn’t see what happened. I just saw everyone stop practicing and walk over there.”

Stiggers was selected by the Jets in the fifth round of the 2024 NFL Draft.

He had an unconventional route into the league having never played college football, instead making the switch from high school football to the Fan Controlled Football League.

From there, he signed with Canadian Football League side Toronto Argonauts before being finally getting drafted.

In his career to date, Stiggers has appeared in 29 games (five starts), where he has recorded 35 tackles and one tackle for loss.

He has also played more than 200 special teams snaps in each of his first two years.
