Ben Stiller’s video of OG Anunoby 3-pointer given ‘absolute cinema’ label from NY

New York Knicks fan Ben Stiller is showing off why he has one of the best seats in Madison Square Garden.

The diehard Knicks fan captured a video of OG Anunoby hitting a three-pointer from his courtside view during Game 2 of the NBA Conference Semifinals against the Philadelphia 76ers. The video, which Stiller posted on X, caught the attention of the official Knicks account, which dubbed the footage “absolute cinema.”

While Stiller was present for Game 2 of the series, he faced some backlash for deciding to attend the Met Gala over Game 1. The actor opened up recently on why he decided to make that choice.

“As a fan, I wanted to be at that Knicks game more than anything,” Stiller told Pat McAfee on his show. “I was invited to the Met Gala three months ago, and I didn’t wanna cancel on our friend… We wore our Knicks colors, and I was watching on my phone.”

To add more fuel to the fire in this situation, fans noticed that while Timothée Chalamet was most likely invited to the Met Gala, he still chose to go to Game 1. Stiller shared that he’s not invited, so he wanted to take the opportunity to go.

“That was the thing,” said Stiller. “The fact that [Chalamet] decided to not go – By the way, I don’t get invited to the Met Gala. Timothee gets invited to the Met Gala every year… I’m not that guy. So, the irony was… I hope Timothee also goes to the Met Gala, and of course, he wasn’t.”

While Anunoby scored 24 points last night, he checked out of the game early with an injury. According to ESPN’s Shams Charania, he was diagnosed with a right hamstring strain Thursday and is considered day-to-day.

The New York Knicks lead the series 2-0 and will head to Philadelphia for Game 3 which takes place on Friday, May 8.
