Bears’ Zavion Thomas turns on the jets with stunning 96-yard touchdown

With the Chicago Bears facing the Tennessee Titans in the preseason finale, the team made its mark immediately in the first drive, thanks to rookie wide receiver Zavion Thomas. As the Bears prepare for Week 1 of the 2026 NFL regular season, any type of positive momentum is needed, which is just what Thomas provided.

On the very first drive of the contest for Chicago, the team was backed up on their own three-yard line. However, quarterback Tyson Bagent didn’t waste any time finding Thomas free on the right as he got open on his route and took it to the house for a 96-yard touchdown.

While this play occurring at any point of the game would’ve been impressive, it happened on the Bears’ first play of the game as Bagent and Thomas made the most of the situation with the last game of the preseason. Not to mention that it was also Thomas’ first catch in an NFL game, as there is no denying that it will be one to remember for the rookie.

Thomas was selected with the 89th overall pick in the third round of the 2026 NFL Draft by Chicago, coming out of LSU. The 22-year-old is looking to separate himself from the rest as the Bears’ wide receiver room is filled with other players like Rome Odunze, Luther Burden III, Kalif Raymond, and others.

At any rate, it remains to be seen how Thomas can progress in his first season with the Bears, as after the preseason finale, the Week 1 opener takes place on Sept. 13 against the Carolina Panthers.
