Athletics provide exciting update on Las Vegas stadium

The Athletics are currently playing in Sacramento, California while the franchise awaits the building of its new stadium in Las Vegas. While the club is not going to make the official move to Nevada until the 2028 season, the organization shared an update on the progress being made on the new stadium.

The Athletics posted a short 15 second video on X showcasing the stadium. You can see cranes surrounding the area as workers continue building the stadium that is located on the south end of the Las Vegas Strip.

While the franchise is excited about the new construction, the club’s departure from Oakland, California didn’t quite sit right with the fanbase. Fans protested team owner John Fisher for over a year, as the front office failed to make any exciting moves to improve the roster.

The relationship between the fans and ownership grew even more sour once it was announced the Athletics were moving to Las Vegas. There are still numerous fans upset about the whole situation, as many individuals shared their distaste on the team’s video on social media.

“You lost our truss when you left Oakland,” said one person. “We will never truss you.”

This user simply stated, “BOOOOOOOOO.”

“All that to go 62-100,” claimed another user.

One individual said, “I’m interested in selling the franchise.”

“Is anyone even excited about this?” asked a baseball fan.

While fans remain upset with John Fisher and the Athletics, the club will continue on with the 2026 campaign. They are taking on the Kansas City Royals on Thursday in the final contest of a four-game series. The Athletics will then face off against the Houston Astros in a weekend series on the road.
