Brian Thomas Jr.’s Mount Rushmore of LSU WRs is impossible to debate
Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Brian Thomas Jr. knows great wideouts when he sees them. That’s because he came into the NFL via LSU, which has been an absolute WR factory over the last decade. There have been so many great Tigers pass-catchers in recent years, narrowing it down to just four is nearly impossible. That said, Thomas did a great job naming his LSU WR Mount Rushmore.
“I’m not going to include myself,” Thomas told Jordan Schultz before naming his Mount Rushmore. “[In] no order: Malik [Nabers], Odell [Beckham Jr.], Ja’Marr [Chase], Justin [Jefferson].”
That is a pretty unassailable list of great LSU wide receivers. These four all made a major impact on the NFL starting in their rookie seasons. All four had over 1,000 receiving yards and made the Pro Bowl in their first NFL campaign, with Beckham and Chase both winning Offensive Rookie of the Year Awards.
Thomas hasn’t hit the heights of Beckham, Chase, or Jefferson yet in the pros, but he is off to a good start. He posted 1,282 yards during his first season in Jacksonville and also earned Pro Bowl honors. He finished fourth in Offensive Rookie of the Year voting, which was one spot ahead of Nabers in that same season.
The Jags WR didn’t have nearly as good a sophomore campaign, as he was limited to just 48 catches for 707 yards and two touchdowns in 2025 under new head coach Liam Coen.
This lack of usage or production, however you choose to view it, has potentially put Thomas on the trading block this season. However, if his career trajectory follows the rest of the LSU Mount Rushmore receivers, moving him could be a catastrophic mistake for the Jaguars.
