Wyndham Clark was a big winner from this PGA Tour season
The PGA Tour season is winding down. This week’s BMW Championship is representative of that as the FedExCup Playoffs will culminate next week.
Looking back on what this season was, there were obviously incredible storylines. Rory McIlroy defended his Masters title, a sentence that would have been preposterous even just two years ago, and as the season wore on the Tour experienced an infusion of youth that is going to help carry it into a new era as it redefines its model.
Covering an entire year in a paragraph is tough and obviously there are a ton of other things that happened. Rory was not the only major champion who collected another trophy this season as Wyndham Clark picked up a second U.S. Open title in impressive fashion.
Clark entered an exclusive club as a multi-major winner. He now is spoken in the way that players like Rory are, and for good reason.
But 2026 was big for Wyndham off the golf course as well. He thrived during ESPN’s coverage of the Par 3 contest at Augusta and was able to showcase his personality. He also appeared on Pardon My Take and was able to offer an even deeper peek behind the curtain at who he is, and people began to embrace him with open arms.
It is often said that winning cures all, and it goes without saying that winning a major helps provide opportunities like that. Wyndham is at the forefront of the golf world once again and will be for the foreseeable future, all the way through next year’s Ryder Cup at Adare Manor at the very least.
Recently Wyndham also spent time with Omaha Productions and PGA Tour studios on “PGA Tour Alter Ego.” The debut episode, which can be seen below, shows Wyndham going undercover as a unique, to put things lightly, golf coach. It’s hilariously done and well worth your time.
The whole video is a great showcase of Wyndham’s personality, the one that has had an opportunity to live in a difference space across 2026. Huge shout out to ShipSticks in this sense as they helped make the whole thing possible by taking care of Wyndham’s bag, something he made sure to note throughout the episode.
PGA Tour seasons are unique from other professional sports in that there are several winners like Wyndham. Aaron Rai and Ryan Fox also deserve mention as the other major champions from this season, but as noted future superstars also held court under the sun as well at one point or another.
As the dust settles on another year of professional golf it does with Wyndham Clark in a different space than he was this time last year. In this particular video he took on a different personality, shout out to Rex Tanner, but in this particular season his actual personality was able to be seen and accepted by more people than it had been up until this point.
Let’s see what next season has in store for him.
