Alabama football 2027 NFL Draft prospect outlook: Ryan Coleman-Williams, Yhonzae Pierre and more

Alabama football aims to avoid a repeat of its 2025 letdown at the hands of Indiana. But they’ll need more than stronger coaching in big games from Kalen DeBoer to get there. The Crimson Tide must lean into the likes of Ryan Coleman-Williams, Yhonzae Pierre, basically their NFL Draft caliber talent.

‘Bama still attracts pro scouts to Tuscaloosa and will become fixated on both the wide receiver and linebacker, respectively. But who else leads the draft talent from the Tide?

Here’s a closer look at the Tide’s potential 2027 class and their prospects.

Wide receiver Ryan Coleman-Williams

Alabama continues to breed NFL caliber wideouts, with Germie Bernard the latest. Yet Coleman-Williams can draw lots of day one of the draft intrigue.

Coleman-Williams torches defenders with a reported 4.28 time in the 40-yard dash. He stresses out defenders with that speed out of the slot or perimeter. Coleman-Williams presents stout releases that hands him the upper hand in creating space to get open. But offenses will love his knack for adjusting to the football down the field and coming away with the catch.

So speed rises as his most valuable asset. However, he must become consistent with his hands (dropped 10 last season). Opposing cornerbacks can reroute him too in press man, so he must develop hand moves to combat that and not rely on solely his feet.

Like DeBoer, Coleman-Williams tends to vanish in big contests. He struggled against Auburn and Vanderbilt, while becoming limited against Georgia in the SEC title game. Plus caught only one pass for five yards in the College Football Playoffs despite Alabama beating Oklahoma. Coleman-Williams brings first round speed, but looks like he has boom-or-bust potential.

Linebacker Yhonzee Pierre

If Coleman-Williams isn’t Alabama’s highest draft selection, Pierre will rise as the top one.

The 6-foot-3, 240-pounder established himself as a reliable pass rusher. Proven off his eight-sack campaign of 2025. He even enters the season owning the SEC’s highest pressure rate among defenders.

Watch film of Pierre against South Carolina to further understand his pass rushing impact. He also consistently pressured Gamecocks quarterback and potential first rounder LaNorris Sellers throughout the game, proving Pierre can create discomfort against high-caliber QBs. League defensive coordinators will love this stat too: Pierre forced three fumbles last season and comes with strip sack potential.

But he’s another needing to become consistent too, more so on the tackles front (missed 13 last season). He relies on speed over pad level too when beating the blocks. So Pierre is athletically gifted, but he must become more fundamentally sound moving forward.

Cornerback Zabien Brown

Brown continues the tradition of playmaking cornerback play in Tuscaloosa. He figures to be in the mix for top CB for the 2027 class.

He mixes his eye discipline and hands together during crucial moments, notably in pulling off game-altering interceptions versus Tennessee and Oklahoma. Brown gets burnt deep, though, off becoming overly aggressive. He’ll grab wideouts too the moment he’s beaten, drawing the yellow marker in the process.

But he brings elite playmaking skills with sound tackling. A breakout 2026 could mean Brown entering the draft waters early.
