Aces signing Chennedy Carter will put Caitlin Clark on notice
The Las Vegas Aces are currently gearing up for the upcoming 2026 WNBA season, which is slated to get underway next month. The Aces will be looking to defend their 2025 WNBA title, which they won in dominant fashion thanks to an epic playoff performance from star A’ja Wilson.
Now, the Aces have made a key signing to add to their guard department as the season approaches.
“Chennedy Carter is returning to the #WNBA and will join the Las Vegas Aces, two sources familiar with the situation confirmed to the (The IX Sports) this morning. The Aces needed some bench depth,” reported Jackie Powell on X, formerly Twitter.
Carter has played in four seasons in the WNBA, and most recently played in China, where she led the league in scoring this past season.
Carter entered the national spotlight during the 2024 season for her well-publicized spat with Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark during her rookie season, generating a slew of discourse over whether or not fellow WNBA players were letting their jealousy of the star jeopardize their opportunity to help grow the sport and generate more revenue.
Carter certainly didn’t help her chances of getting re-signed to a new team with the incident, but now, she is back, and all eyes will be on her and Clark whenever the two end up facing off throughout the 2026 season.
In any case, the Aces are scheduled to get their title defense underway on May 9 when they host the Phoenix Mercury in a rematch of last year’s WNBA Finals.
