Nottingham Forest bid for Everton wonderkid as winger is left out of clash amid Serie A links

Nottingham Forest have reportedly made a bid for Everton youngster Harrison Armstrong.

talkSPORT understands the Tricky Trees have made an offer for the 19-year-old midfielder.

It comes as Omari Hutchinson was left out of the Forest squad for Saturday’s trip to Liverpool amid talk of interest from AC Milan in the winger.

Hutchinson came off the bench in Forest’s Carabao Cup loss to Leeds on Tuesday but wasn’t in the squad for their Premier League opening-weekend defeat to the same opposition.

Armstrong impresses on opening weekend

Armstrong played the whole game as Everton began the campaign with a 2-0 win over Crystal Palace, setting up Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall‘s opening goal.

“For someone my age to be able to play 90 minutes in the Premier League, it’s a massive opportunity to learn,” Armstrong said after the match. “I’m just hoping I can do that as much as possible this season.”

And Dewsbury-Hall was effusive in his praise for Armstrong and fellow midfielder Hayden Hackney, making his Everton debut after signing from Middlesbrough this summer.

“I thought they were exceptional,” Dewsbury-Hall said.

On Armstrong specifically, he added: “He’s got some engine on him, and won’t stop running. He’s got that Everton spirit as well which I love.”

But Armstrong’s future on Merseyside has been thrown into doubt by Forest’s reported pursuit.

Armstrong: the story so far

Born in Liverpool, Armstrong joined Everton’s academy at the age of five and made his first-team debut two years ago.

He’s made 18 senior appearances for the Toffees so far, also spending time on loan in the Championship with Derby and Preston.

The England Under-19 international enjoyed a breakthrough campaign in 2025/26, winning Everton’s Young Player of the Season award.

Armstrong signed his first professional contract in 2024.

His current deal at the Hill Dickinson Stadium runs until the summer of 2028.

But Everton might now face a fight to keep hold of one of their most promising homegrown talents.
