Aces’ Becky Hammon shows love to players after hitting 150-win milestone
After the Las Vegas Aces lost to the Dallas Wings on Thursday, the team bounced back hugely and scored the win over the Golden State Valkyries on Sunday, 91-81. The win also included a milestone for Aces head coach Becky Hammon, as Sunday marked her 150th win.
Having been with Las Vegas since 2022, Hammon has cemented herself as a top head coach in the WNBA, as displayed by the 150 wins and three championships. Reacting to the news, she would credit how she is “with some of the greatest human beings to ever play.”
“I get 150 (wins) with some of the greatest human beings to ever play. I love them…You hear it time in and time out that a player would run through a wall for their coach, but this coach would run through a wall for them,” Hammon said, via Kendra Andrews.
The 150th win was also done speedily, with Hammon being the second-fastest to do it, via Andrews:
“The Aces’ 91-81 win over the Valkyries marks Becky Hammon’s 150th win as head coach. She did it in 205 games, which is the second-fastest in WNBA history behind only Van Chancellor, who did it in 198 games for Houston,” Andrews wrote on X, formerly Twitter.
Aces’ A’ja Wilson on Becky Hammon’s 150 wins
A main piece to Hammon’s Aces team has been superstar A’ja Wilson, who recorded 28 points, 15 rebounds, four assists, and four blocks in Sunday’s win over the Valkyries. Reacting to the news about Hammon, Wilson would express her excitement.
“I’ll run through a brick wall for Becky as well. She instills so much power and so much confidence in us, and I think that’s one of the reasons why I’m willing to do whatever it takes to get her wins,” Wilson said, according to Madisyn Cunningham. “She has poured herself into us, which allows us to be true to ourselves, and that is just a sign of a great coach.”
“I would run through a brick wall for Becky, as well.”

At any rate, Hammon and Las Vegas, as the team is currently 5-2-, look to keep adding to the win total with the next game coming on Tuesday night against the Los Angeles Sparks.
