76ers’ Game 7 win just moved Bruce Springsteen’s planned 2026 tour finale

While his upcoming shows at Madison Square Garden are safe, Bruce Springsteen’s 2026 tour dates have seen a slight change in the itinerary, namely, thanks to the Philadelphia 76ers’ improbably Game 7 win over the Boston Celtics on Saturday, May 2, 2026.

With the Sixers’ win, they will be playing the New York Knicks in the second round of the playoffs. Since they were the lower seed, the 76ers will begin the series on the road, with Games 1 and 2 being played at the Garden. However, Games 3 and 4 will be held in Philadelphia on May 8 and May 10. May 8 was the original date for Springsteen’s Philadelphia tour stop. While there’s a one-day break in between Games 3 and 4, the Philadelphia Flyers will be hosting the Carolina Hurricanes on May 9 in the NHL playoffs.

Given that two of Philadelphia’s major sports teams are in the postseason, Springsteen had to move his Philadelphia show to Saturday, May 30.

“Due to the NBA and NHL playoff schedule, the Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band concert at Xfinity Mobile Arena has been rescheduled for May 30,” the announcement said. “All tickets for the previous date will remain valid for the new date.”

What does the 76ers’ Game 7 win mean for Bruce Springsteen’s 2026 tour finale?

The change means that Springsteen’s tour will no longer conclude in Washington, D.C., as originally planned. Originally, the tour was set to conclude on Wednesday, May 27. The show will be held at Nationals Park, the only outdoor venue of the tour.

This felt like a fitting finale, given the tour’s mission statement. However, it will now end in one of Springsteen’s other biggest markets, Philadelphia.

The Boss has a long history in the City of Brotherly Love. New Jersey, his home state, isn’t far from Philly, creating a special bond. He also wrote “Streets of Philadelphia” for the 1993 movie Philadelphia. This song won Springsteen his only Oscar.
