49ers’ Nick Bosa sidelined during training camp with knee injury

After missing the final 14 games of the 2025 NFL season with a torn ACL, expectations for the return of Nick Bosa are sky-high among fans of the San Francisco 49ers.

Unfortunately, at least during training camp, the hopes of seeing No. 97 flashing his vintage form have had to wait, as he’s been largely sidelined from action.

Fortunately, according to head coach Kyle Shanahan, that isn’t because of reinjury or any other complications, but instead the normal soreness that comes along with an ACL recovery, with the 49ers playing things safe to ensure they get the best of Bosa when the regular season begins.

“Just soreness, tendonitis. It’s a pretty normal thing with ACLs. You know, just talking to our guys, they say it happens to about 90 percent of the guys we’ve had,” Shanahan said. “So it’s a normal thing, and so we’ve got to be smart here for, you know, week to week. But no concerns about him being any more than that.”

This is a developing story.
