49ers’ Brandon Aiyuk ripped to shreds by Mark Schlereth for ‘s****y decisions’

It is becoming a sad saga for San Francisco 49ers receiver Brandon Aiyuk. But the 49ers are standing firm. And Aiyuk was ripped to shreds by Mark Schlereth for his decisions, according to a post on X by Coach Yac.

“Mark Schlereth has a message for Brandon Aiyuk: ‘Here’s a little piece of advice for you. You are exactly where you are because of the shitty decisions that you’ve made. You are not a victim. It is not anybody else’s fault. The San Francisco 49ers didn’t conspire against you to ruin your career. You are where you are because of your stupidity. Just admit it, embrace it, and move forward with it.’ ”

Schlereth didn’t hold back. The question is whether Aiyuk is willing to listen to anyone.

49ers WR Brandon Aiyuk has a murky NFL future

The only thing that seems certain is that Aiyuk won’t play for the 49ers in 2026. Or maybe ever again. But where he lands is anybody’s guess. He might wind up in the NFC East, according to Sports Illustrated.

“There are rumors that Dallas may be interested in trading a 7th-round pick,” Tom Jensen wrote. “However, Aiyuk could refuse to report and nullify the trade. He wants to go to Washington and has sacrificed money to set that up.

“Meanwhile, the Commanders have no interest in trading what they can get for free. So as the Niners and Aiyuk continue to play this game of chicken, it can stretch out through August.”

There’s a disturbing path where the 49ers could essentially keep Aiyuk off any NFL field through the 2028 season. Since he is 28 years old, missing three years would basically end any hope of him being a viable receiver in the league.

“The 49ers have the roster tools that can prevent Aiyuk from playing until his contract runs out at the end of 2028, in essence ending his career,” Jensen wrote.
