4-star safety select Washington over Arizona State, UCLA

On Saturday afternoon, four-star safety Jaden Walk-Green of Corona Centennial High School (Corona, California) announced his commitment to Washington for the 2027 recruiting class, choosing the Huskies over Arizona State, UCLA, Vanderbilt, and Kansas State

Walk-Green is rated a four-star recruit, ranked No. 166 nationally overall and the No. 14 safety in the country by Rivals.com. He chose Washington after narrowing his options to a final group that included the Sun Devils, Bruins, Commodores, and Wildcats, with multiple programs hosting him on official visits before his decision.

The 5-foot-11, 185–188-pound defensive back is coming off a highly productive junior season at Centennial, where he recorded 125 tackles along with 10 interceptions, including five interception returns for touchdowns. His defensive scoring also includes six defensive touchdowns when factoring in additional return production. Those interception return touchdowns came on long returns of 49, 68, 78, 88, and 92 yards.

Walk-Green also added a 27-yard fumble return touchdown and a 94-yard punt return touchdown, showcasing his multi-phase impact. He had standout tackling performances including a season-high 15 tackles against Santa Margarita and 13 tackles against Servite as part of his 11-2 team season.

During a 63-14 win over Vista Murrieta, Walk-Green tipped a pass, intercepted it, and returned it for an 88-yard touchdown after evading multiple defenders, including a leap over a tackler near midfield and breaking additional tackles during the return.

On special teams, he also handled kicking duties, converting 4-of-5 field goal attempts and 63-of-65 extra points.

Walk-Green becomes the Huskies 19th commitment in the class, 11th on defense, and second safety pledge. His commitment adds to a growing defensive group under coach Jedd Fisch, with 11 defensive commits now in the class, including multiple four-star defensive backs.

He is expected to fit into the program’s defensive system under coordinator Ryan Walters, with positional coaching from Taylor Mays, who served as his lead recruiter.

Walk-Green is also a baseball player at Centennial and plans to continue as a two-sport athlete at Washington, with intentions to pursue baseball under coach Eddie Smith.
