Yankees’ Cody Bellinger predicted to win specific award for first time since 2019

New York Yankees outfielder Cody Bellinger earned his third career All-Star selection this season. It was also his first All-Star selection since the 2019 campaign. Will Bellinger accomplish another impressive feat for the first time since 2019 this year as well?

Jason Foster, Jared Greenspan and Brian Murphy recently published an article for MLB.com where they predicted the 2026 MLB Gold Glove winners. They have Bellinger winning the Gold Glove Award for left field in the American League this season.

“Bellinger won his lone Gold Glove back in 2019, but he has been arguably the best AL left fielder since the start of 2025. His plus-14 Fielding Run Value and 12 Outs Above Average are the most at his position over that span. He sits above the 90th percentile in each of those statistics this year,” the article reads.

The 31-year-old is seemingly on track to win his second career Gold Glove. Bellinger has a .988 fielding percentage and seven assists. He is versatile as well. While 107 of Bellinger’s games played have been in left field, he also has 17 games played in center field, five games played in right field and five games played at first base.

Bellinger has also swung the bat well overall. It has been a quality season for the left-handed slugger with the Yankees. He is clearly helping out in multiple facets of the game.

If the Yankees are going to surpass the Tampa Bay Rays in the American League East division, they will certainly need Cody Bellinger to continue to play well.
