Yankees’ Aaron Boone reveals Carlos Rodon plan after first rehab start
The New York Yankees have picked things up recently, starting off their series against the Atlanta Braves with two straight wins over the weekend. The Yankees are hoping to get healthier as the season winds down, with numerous players currently out due to injury, headlined by superstar Aaron Judge.
Also out of the lineup is pitcher Carlos Rodon, who is dealing with elbow inflammation and recently made a start in the minor leagues as he works his way back to the Yankees.
Now, Yankees manager Aaron Boone has given the latest update on the team’s plans for Rodon.
“Carlos Rodon is expected to have at least one more Minor League rehab start before being activated, Aaron Boone said,” reported Bryan Hoch of the MLB on X, formerly Twitter.
Rodon has been solid when he’s been on the mound for the Yankees this year, but injuries have been an issue, as the elbow flare-up is not the first stretch of games he’s missed in 2026.
The Yankees will hope that one more rehab start is all he needs to round back into form and be ready to join the big leagues again.
New York has done a solid job of holding down the fort in the absence of Judge, who has been sidelined since the end of May with a lingering rib issue, although there is some hope of a return sooner rather than later.
The Yankees currently sit 66-51, although they are still 4.5 games back of the Tampa Bay Rays for first place in the AL East.
After wrapping up their series vs the Braves, the Yankees will next hit the field on Tuesday against the Seattle Mariners.
