Dwyane Wade salutes 76ers’ LeBron James after emotional reunion in gym
The Philadelphia 76ers are just days away from learning their schedule for the upcoming 2026-27 NBA season, which will be LeBron James’ first in their uniform. James joined the 76ers in a shocking move this offseason after departing the Los Angeles Lakers, and now, opinions are varying on whether Philadelphia can be a legit title threat this year.
For his part, James has been putting in plenty of work this offseason, and recently, he received a shoutout from former Miami Heat teammate Dwyane Wade, who took to Instagram to post photos of the pair in the gym together.
“For the last 24 years I’ve always known where to find him. His dedication for greatness can leave you speechless,” wrote Wade.
James and Wade were teammates on the Heat from 2010-2014, winning two NBA Finals in the process and forming one of the most iconic duos in NBA history, with Chris Bosh making up the famous, or infamous, Big Three.
Wade has long since retired from the sport, but James is still getting it done at an elite level at the age of 41. While he’s no longer the same explosive athlete he was during his Miami days, James proved this past spring that he can still be the best player in a postseason series by dismantling the Houston Rockets, and also found some success against the Oklahoma City Thunder’s historic defense in the following playoff round.
Now, James will be teaming up with Tyrese Maxey, Jaylen Brown, Joel Embiid, and VJ Edgecombe on the new-look 76ers, who have undergone one of the most shocking offseason transformations in recent NBA history this summer.
The NBA schedule is slated to be released later this week.
