Tate McCrae splits from Devils star Jack Hughes

Tate McCrae and Jack Hughes’ romance is over.

Despite the couple never actually confirming their relationship, they reportedly are going their separate ways after nine months of dating. According to Page Six, the New Jersey Devils star pulled the plug on the relationship after he began noticing “red flags” in the pop star.

However, another source told the outlet that McCrae was the one who decided to end the relationship and not Hughes. The NHL star reportedly has already moved on and is dating other people.

The two began fueling romance rumors when they were seen around New York City last year. The pair was spotted getting dinner at Anton’s in the West Village. The “Exes” singer was also seen cheering him on at Devils games.

The relationship seen to have been going well as a source told Us Weekly in March, “They started casually seeing each other late last year, so it’s still new, but they are exclusively seeing each other.”

“[Tate] thinks [Jack] is a really cool guy and they have been having a lot of fun together,” the source said. “She has been so supportive of his career and has been loving going to the games and cheering him on.”

While the relationship might not have panned out in their favor, the two are successful in their careers. McCrae was honored by the Hollywood trade last week with the Triple Threat Award at their Power of Young Hollywood event. She also wrapped up her Miss Possessive Tour in November 2025.

As for Hughes, he won Olympic gold with the U.S. men’s hockey team and made national television appearances on Saturday Night Live and The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.

“The best couple weeks of my life and just a lot of fun celebrating with the guys and enjoying it,” Hughes told reporters back in March. “Now, after all this, it’s in the rearview mirror for a little bit. We’ll pull it out back in the summer. But yeah, it’s back to Devils and locking back in here and trying to win some games.”
