Yankees’ Aaron Boone drops huge Cody Bellinger, Carlos Rodon injury updates
The New York Yankees have been playing some solid baseball of late, winning two out of three games vs the Atlanta Braves over the weekend ahead of their next series vs the Seattle Mariners. The Yankees currently sit at 66-52, a solid mark considering the amount of injuries the team is currently dealing with, headlined by superstar Aaron Judge.
Also injured are Cody Bellinger and Carlos Rodon, and recently, Yankees manager Aaron Boone gave the latest update on the status of the two key players.
“Belli is getting close. Rodon will throw again I believe Thursday or Friday, another rehab outing, then we’ll see from there,” he said, per Talkin’ Yanks on X, formerly Twitter.
He also said that “Judge is continuing to start that ramp-up process.”
Bellinger has been out for multiple weeks with a hamstring strain, which he suffered not long after winning the All-Star Game MVP honors. Meanwhile, Rodon has been dealing with elbow inflammation, but has been participating in rehab starts in the minor leagues as he prepares for a comeback.
Judge has been out since the end of May with a ribcage injury, and although the team has done an admirable job of holding down the fort in his absence, any realistic chance that the Yankees have of ending their World Series drougth this year hinges on the availability of the superstar, who is universally considered one of the two or three best players in the sport today.
Still, getting Bellinger and Rodon back will also help out immensely, however vague Boone may be in describing their injury recoveries.
In any case, the Yankees will next hit the field on Tuesday evening at home vs the Mariners.
