Here is the Dodgers’ plan for Blake Snell’s injury return game vs. Royals

Getting over a seven-game losing streak with wins in two of their last three games, the Los Angeles Dodgers look like they could finally be back on track. The two-time defending champions will look to win their series against the Kansas City Royals at home with a victory on Wednesday night. Per Major League Baseball’s transactions ticker, the Dodgers are set to get lefty ace Blake Snell back from a left elbow injury. The plan is for a five-inning start against the visiting AL Central squad.

“Scheduled to be activated to start Aug. 11 against Kansas City,” the league’s tracker posted on Monday. “Targeting five innings and 75-80 pitches.”

Snell’s scheduled start against the Royals would only be his second of the campaign. The lefty’s start to the season was delayed due to a shoulder ailment. Then, he only lasted three innings in his May 9th start against the Atlanta Braves before leaving with the elbow injury. Now, as the Dodgers look to continue their winning ways, Snell also looks to get back to his Cy Young status.

In addition to trade deadline acquisition Tarik Skubal, Snell has also won two Cy Young Awards. Snell’s might be more impressive, though, as he’s won an award in both the AL and NL. In any case, in a potential postseason rotation, there’s a chance that Snell might not even be in the rotation. After all, the Dodgers also possess starters like Skubal, Yoshinobu Yamamoto, Shohei Ohtani (once he’s back from injury), Tyler Glasnow, and more. If Los Angeles hopes to accomplish a World Series threepeat, it could use all of their aces, including Snell, back in form. Hopefully, Snell’s second start of 2026 showcases his ace-level potential once again.
