WWE’s Oba Femi pays heartfelt tribute to Brock Lesnar after apparent SummerSlam retirement

Following their violent “Hell in a Cell” match at WWE SummerSlam, Oba Femi seemingly sent Brock Lesnar into retirement (again).

Afterward, he paid tribute to the “Beast Incarnate” during the SummerSlam post-show. Femi wished him well in whatever is next.

“We all know Brock is a beast — he presents as a beast. He’s a monster; he’s been dominant for 25 years. But amongst all that, he might be superhuman, but he is still very much human,” Femi praised. “He’s a human being, he’s a man, he’s a father, he’s an athlete, he has feelings as well. So, to Brock, I wish you all the best. I really do.

“Go hunting, do what you do, go be a father, go be a human being. You’ve earned this in the ring, in the cage, everything you’ve done. You’re the best. You’re one of the greatest minds of professional wrestling. And I hope when all this is said and done, everybody knows that,” he continued.

Brock Lesnar lost his match against Oba Femi at WWE SummerSlam

It was a grueling battle, but Femi defeated Lesnar in a “Hell in a Cell” match at SummerSlam to seemingly conclude their months-long feud.

Early on, it appeared the “Beast Incarnate” was in full control, dominating the “Ruler.” However, Femi was able to rally, kicking out of three consecutive F5s, to slay the “Beast.”

The match ended after Lesnar ripped the ring canvas open, exposing the wood. He delivered a Tombstone Piledriver, The Undertaker’s famous finishing move, which Femi kicked out of. Femi then hit Lesnar with a Fall from Grace to pick up the three count.

This ended a feud that has been brewing since the Royal Rumble in January 2026, when Lesnar eliminated Femi from the annual battle royal. Femi then won their first match at WrestleMania 42 before Lesnar won their second at Clash in Italy.
