WWE WrestleMania 42 Night 1 predictions: Can Randy Orton win his 15th World title?

In less than a few hours after Friday Night SmackDown, WWE is all set to host the much-awaited WrestleMania 42 PLE in Las Vegas, Nevada. Set to take place at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, several high-stakes matches are scheduled for the show.

On Apr. 18, WWE WrestleMania 42 will be available for fans to stream on ESPN in the US and on Netflix in several major international markets. WrestleMania 42 Night One is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. ET/3 p.m. PT.

Featuring a seven-match card, fans will witness four men’s matches and three women’s matches. The card will also feature four title matches, including Randy Orton’s quest for his 15th World Championship.

Here are ClutchPoints’ predictions for WrestleMania 42 Night One.

1. The Vision (Logan Paul and Austin Theory) and IShowSpeed (with Paul Heyman) vs. The Usos (Jey Uso and Jimmy Uso) and LA Knight

On the Mar. 30, 2026 edition of Monday Night Raw, The Vision defeated The Usos to win the World Tag Team Championship after an interference from IShowSpeed. IShowSpeed soon found himself becoming a part of The Vision.

Following a few run-ins with Speed, LA Knight, and The Usos challenged Speed and The Vision to a six-man tag team match at WrestleMania 42. Despite his time training with Logan Paul and Austin Theory, LA Knight and The Usos are expected to secure the victory on Night One.

2. Jacob Fatu vs. Drew McIntyre

For months now, Jacob Fatu has been in a heated rivalry with Drew McIntyre. Despite Fatu’s role in McIntyre securing the Undisputed WWE Championship earlier this year, McIntyre made sure to cost Fatu and Rhodes multiple of their matches following the title win.

However, once Rhodes won back the title and began his feud with Randy Orton, McIntyre got stuck in a feud with Fatu. Their rivalry reached new heights as both of them became more violent against each other.

At WrestleMania 42, Fatu and McIntyre are set to face each other in an unsanctioned fight. Based on McIntyre’s bad luck and Fatu’s high momentum, “The Samoan Werewolf” is expected to close the night with a victory.

3. The Irresistible Forces (Nia Jax and Lash Legend) (c) vs. Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss vs. Bayley and Lyra Valkyria vs. The Bella Twins (Brie Bella and Nikki Bella) – WWE Women’s Tag Team titles

The WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship picture has been one of the most talked-about titles in the promotion right now. With several women now chasing the gold, WrestleMania 42 will feature four teams chasing the Women’s Tag Team gold.

On the Feb. 27 episode of Friday Night SmackDown, The Irresistible Forces defeated RHIYO (Rhea Ripley and IYO Sky) to win the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship. Since then, Jax and Legend have held onto the titles. However, based on Bayley and Valkyria’s current momentum, the two are expected to win and secure the titles, ensuring their rise to the top.

Our prediction: Bayley and Lyra Valkyria def. The Irresistible Forces (Nia Jax and Lash Legend), Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss, and The Bella Twins (Nikki and Brie Bella).

4. AJ Lee (c) vs. Becky Lynch – WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship

For months now, AJ Lee and Becky Lynch have been involved in a heated rivalry against each other. Their feud began last year before WrestlePalooza. At WrestlePalooza, Lee made her shocking return and defeated Seth Rollins and Becky Lynch in a mixed tag-team match.

Later at Elimination Chamber 2026, Lee defeated Lynch in a singles match to win the WWE Women’s Intercontinental title. With Lynch regularly attacking Lee, the former Divas Champion then challenged Lynch to a title match at WrestleMania 42.

At WrestleMania 42, Becky Lynch is expected to defeat Lee and win back the title for possibly losing to a younger upcoming star from NXT.

5. Seth Rollins vs. Gunther

Quite random and booked out of the blue, Seth Rollins vs. Gunther for WWE WrestleMania 42 seems very random. With almost no buildup or history to their feud, Rollins and Gunther are scheduled to clash at WrestleMania 42, possibly producing one of the highest-rated matches of the night.

While Gunther is not officially a part of Paul Heyman’s Vision, “The Ring General” appeared on Monday Night RAW a few weeks ago to save Heyman and begin his ambush on Rollins, calling the fight “personal.”

At WrestleMania 42, Bron Breakker is expected to return to the promotion and potentially cost Rollins the match. Gunther is currently at an all-time career high, and losing to Rollins after retiring John Cena and AJ Styles would not make sense for either of their stories.

Our prediction: Gunther def. Seth Rollins.

6. Stephanie Vaquer (c) vs. Liv Morgan – WWE Women’s World Championship

In the second main event of the night, Stephanie Vaquer and Liv Morgan are expected to turn things violent. The two have been engaged in one of the most talked-about feuds on Monday Night RAW.

With both of them turning this feud personal, fans expect a brawl more than a wrestling match at WrestleMania 42 between the two. With Dominik Mysterio by her side and fresh off the 2026 Royal Rumble win, Morgan is expected to continue this momentum and secure the win in Las Vegas, Nevada, and claim back the title.

7. Randy Orton vs. Cody Rhodes (c) – WWE Undisputed Championship

Looking forward to winning his 15th World Championship, Randy Orton is currently on a warpath. Completely embraced his heel character and more dangerous than ever, “The Apex Predator” now teamed up with Pat McAfee, looks forward to defeating Cody Rhodes and putting a halt to his third WWE Championship reign.

The Road to WrestleMania for Rhodes and Orton also saw Jelly Roll get involved before getting dropped with an RKO. Despite being prepared for the fight, Rhodes has a history of losing on the big stage of WrestleMania. Just behind Ric Flair and John Cena, Orton now looks forward to reaching closer to that record with 15 World title victories.

At WrestleMania 42, Randy Orton is expected to beat all odds and secure the championship from Cody Rhodes by defeating him amid rumors of “The Rock”‘s return.
