Trinity Rodman, Queen Latifah support Ben Shelton at US Open

Ben Shelton has some star power in the stands tonight to cheer him on his 2026 US Open journey.

Cameras caught the tennis star’s girlfriend, Trinity Rodman, and actress Queen Latifah among some of the celebrities catching the first round of the US Open.

Fans loved that Shelton brought out stars like Rodman and Queen Latifah to New York in celebration of the US Open.

“Spotting icons like Queen Latifah and Trinity Rodman in the crowd proves just how much star power Ben Shelton brings to New York,” one fan commented on the video.

“Star power at the US Open!” another fan wrote, adding a fire emoji.

Rodman’s appearance is not too surprising as she has been dating Shelton for about a year in a half. The couple went public with their romantic relationship in March 2025. The two have been seen supporting one another at their matches and games throughout their relationship. Rodman, who is the daughter of NBA legend Dennis Rodman, is a forward for the Washington Spirit.

Ben Shelton at US Open

This year’s tennis tournament is Shelton’s sixth appearance at the US Open. During the first round of the men’s singles tournament Shelton enters as the eighth seed facing Tallon Griekspoor.

While Shelton is a top contender in the tennis tournament, Carlos Alcaraz is a favorite — and the tournament’s reigning champion — as he just defeated Roman Safiullin during his match earlier in the day. Shelton is giving his all and shared that he is not discrediting his opponents in this tournament.

“I think to kind of discredit the group that is playing high-level tennis right now wouldn’t be smart,” Shelton said ahead of the US Open in a press conference. “Going into a tournament like this, I think I always have respect for whoever is playing. I try not to over-respect my opponents, obviously. But I think it is a very important part of who I am as a person and how I look at my tennis game and the tournaments I’m playing in.”

The last time an American man won the US Open was in 2003 when Andy Roddick defeated Juan Carlos Ferrero.
