Wings star Paige Bueckers says she wouldn’t even pay $10 for her jersey after breaking jaw-dropping record
The Dallas Wings guard Paige Bueckers’ game-worn jersey from her WNBA debut on May 16, 2025, sold for $64,720 through MeiGray, setting a new record for the highest price paid for a WNBA jersey and the most expensive publicly sold, photo-matched item in women’s sports memorabilia.
The previous WNBA jersey record stood at $32,150, which was paid for A’ja Wilson’s Las Vegas Aces jersey from Games 1 and 2 of the 2025 WNBA Finals. In the wider scope of women’s sports memorabilia, the all-time record remains $125,000 for Billie Jean King’s racket used in the 1973 “Battle of the Sexes,” sold in 2017.
Reacting to the auction result, Bueckers expressed disbelief, saying:
“That’s insane to me, just thinking about it,” she said. “That much money is insane to me. I’m just feeling very grateful and feeling blessed that people are that invested in women’s sports. You can see the rise in popularity, the growth in respect. I wouldn’t even pay $10 for my own jersey.”

Bueckers was selected No. 1 overall in the 2025 WNBA Draft after winning a national championship with UConn. In her debut for Dallas, she scored 10 points on 3-of-10 shooting, adding 7 rebounds and 2 assists in 30 minutes during a 99-84 loss to the Minnesota Lynx.
She later earned WNBA Rookie of the Year honors, averaging 19.2 points, 5.4 assists, 3.9 rebounds, and 1.6 steals per game, along with All-Star recognition and an All-WNBA Second Team selection. The Wings finished 10-34 in her rookie season.
Dallas has hit the ground running this season, compiling a 5-3 record through eight games and earning a statement 95-87 win over the defending champions. The Wings currently occupy fourth place in the standings ahead of Monday’s clash with the Seattle Storm.
