Why Tyrese Haliburton throwing out 1st pitch at Wrigley Field will upset Brewers fans

Indiana Pacers point guard Tyrese Haliburton will be throwing out the first pitch for the Chicago Cubs as they’re set to face the Milwaukee Brewers, and that won’t sit right with some of the opposing fans. The reason why is quite hilarious, as the Brewers had once sent Haliburton an invite to throw out the first pitch, but rescinded it after the Pacers defeated the Bucks in the playoffs.

Now, Haliburton seems to be willing to get his payback.

“I was a Brewers fan and then I was supposed to throw the first pitch last summer, and they X’ed that after the playoff series,” Haliburton said via Scott Agness of Fieldhouse Files. “So I said, ‘You know what? I’m no longer a Brewers fan.’”

Haliburton grew up in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, so it makes sense why he was a Brewers fan. That changed after his team beat the Bucks, and he shared on the Pat McAfee Show that he wasn’t welcomed in Wisconsin as much nowadays. With the Cubs offering him an invite, it felt like something he couldn’t turn down.

“Whatever they need me to do, I’ll be prepared,” Haliburton said. “I’ve been working on my pitch. My form is not the greatest, but we’ve been working on it.”

Brewers fans will definitely feel some type of way when they see Haliburton on the field, but if there’s one thing we’ve learned about the Pacers point guard, he doesn’t mind being the villain in somebody’s story.

As for the Cubs, they’re currently 78-62 and are in second place in the NL Central. With this being the final game of their series against the Brewers, it would be big for them to get this win.
