Why Rams’ Sean McVay thought he was on drugs during Week 3 vs. Eagles
The Los Angeles Rams are ready to make another deep playoff run this fall. Rams QB Matthew Stafford signed an extension before his 18th season, suggesting the 2025 MVP is not ready to retire just yet. Hopefully LA can avoid some of the painful losses that hurt them during the 2025 season.
Rams head coach Sean McVay appeared on Bussin’ With the Boys on May 19th. He spoke on several topics, including some of his team’s worst losses during the 2025 season.
McVay declared that every single game that LA lost last fall took a toll on the team. Especially considering some of the crazy ways that the Rams ended up losing games.
“That was crazy, but if you really go through all five of our regular season losses, I mean they were all like…gut wrenching,” McVay said.
LA’s Week 3 loss against Philadelphia, which included a crucial blocked field goal attempt, was one of the most painful losses for McVay.
“We ran it on first and 10 to get to second and three because I’m like alright we’re good,” McVay said about his decisions leading up to the field goal attempt. “I thought to myself, man, I must have taken a quaalude because this can’t be real life, what I’m watching right now. When I saw that field goal get blocked. But I’ll tell you this though, that s*** sucked in the moment but our group used all of those to callous them the right way. And we came up short, but that’s one of my all-time favorite teams.”
The Rams had a 26-7 lead in the third quarter, but gave up 26 unanswered points in the loss.
LA plays Philadelphia in Week 4 of the 2026 season. Perhaps last season’s big loss will be motivation enough to get revenge later this fall.
