Is Kelsey Plum playing tonight? Mercury vs. Dream injury report

The Phoenix Mercury will be playing the Atlanta Dream, and they may be getting one of their key players back on the court. Kelsey Plum has been sidelined for the past two games after suffering a left lower-leg injury against the Washington Mystics, and she’s on the injury report again ahead of their matchup with the Dream.

Plum has only played in four games with the Mercury since getting traded, and the team has tried to make a late playoff push. Without Plum, it may be hard to do that, and their margin for error is thin when looking at the teams above them.

Here is Plum’s injury status going into the game.

Kelsey Plum’s injury status vs. Dream

Plum is listed as questionable against the Dream, which means there is a chance that she can make her return after a two-game absence. It’s been hard for Plum to stay healthy this season, but when she is on the court, she’s playing some of the best basketball of her career. She’s currently averaging 23.9 points and 6.4 assists per game.

The Mercury are hoping they can get Plum back sooner rather than later so they can try to finish out the season strong. Even if they don’t end up making the playoffs, the best thing they can get out of this is knowing that the trio of Plum, Alyssa Thomas and Kahleah Copper can work on the court.

Plum will be a free agent after this season, and the Mercury want to do everything they can to make sure she re-signs with them. They probably wouldn’t have traded for her if they didn’t think she would return, but you never know what a player could decide to do.

It’ll be interesting to see the decision that Plum makes at the end of the season.
