Who is Johnny Fisher fighting next? Three potential foes for debut with Dana White’s Zuffa Boxing

Johnny Fisher is just six weeks away from making his Zuffa Boxing debut, but his opponent is yet to be announced.

Last month, the British fan favourite parted ways with long-time promoter Eddie Hearn of Matchroom Boxing to join forces with Dana White’s upstart promotional outfit.

Fisher revealed that Zuffa, financed by Saudi powerbroker Turki Alalshikh, offered him “six to seven times” more than Matchroom had after his deal expired earlier this year.

He is now set to headline Zuffa Boxing 11 on September 26 in a homecoming fight at the Copper Box Arena in London.

With tickets set to go on sale this week, an announcement on Fisher’s next dance partner is expected imminently.

And here, talkSPORT.com has laid out the three most realistic options as Fisher looks to continue to rebuild his career in the wake of his stoppage loss to Dave Allen.

Harvey Dykes (7-1-1)

Harvey Dykes finds himself at a similar point in his career to Fisher having recently suffered a first defeat in the paid ranks to Ivan Dychko in his Zuffa Boxing debut in June.

2022 ABA champion Dykes opened up as a heavy underdog against the two-time Olympic bronze medallist.

But he gave Dychko plenty to think about, and was even given the nod on one of the three scorecards.

While this fight seems to make the most sense it remains to be seen whether Dykes would be prepared to take a tight three-month turnaround.

David Adeleye (14-2)

With David Adeleye recently announcing that he has decided against re-signing with Queensberry, a move to Zuffa seems like a genuine possibility.

Zuffa have been long-time admirers of the former British heavyweight champion and could move quickly to book a fight with Fisher.

Adeleye is coming off a lopsided unanimous decision defeat to bonafide top 10 heavyweight Filip Hrgovic last August and is expected to take a step down in opposition.

Andrew Tabiti (22-2)

Many of Zuffa’s heavyweight crop have recently competed, leaving only a few realistic options to choose from.

One of them is Andrew Tabiti.

The American is yet to make his Zuffa debut and hasn’t competed since June of last year when he blew away unheralded Ghanaian Jacob Dickson inside four rounds.

At the peak of his powers he was a decent cruiserweight contender who unsuccessfully challenged for the IBF title against Yuniel Dorticos in 2019.

Since then, he has moved up to boxing’s glamour division where he was convincingly outpointed by Justis Huni in October 2023.

Tabiti would undoubtedly be a tall order for Fisher, but it would fulfil Zuffa’s pledge of “no easy fights”.
