Where to watch Everton vs Manchester United: Man City loanee Grealish eyes start

Everton entertain Manchester United in an intriguing Premier League encounter this weekend.

The Toffees have taken four points from their opening two games to Man United‘s three, though the visitors did get their campaign up and running in style with a 5-2 win over Ipswich last time out.

Having beaten Crystal Palace 2-0 at home on the first weekend of the season, Everton maintained their unbeaten start thanks to James Tarkowski’s stoppage-time equaliser at Bournemouth in their last outing.

One of the few fixtures that’s been played in every Premier League campaign to date, this will be the 174th all-time meeting between Everton and United.

Everton boss David Moyes comes up against the club he left the Toffees to take charge of back in 2013, following Sir Alex Ferguson‘s retirement.

And for his opposite number, Michael Carrick, it’s a repeat of one of his earliest games in charge of United, who he led to a 1-0 victory on Merseyside in February.

Kick-off at Hill Dickinson Stadium is scheduled for 2pm.

Everton vs Man United team news

Moyes could have a full squad at his disposal, with Christian Norgaard – yet to make his debut since joining from Arsenal – Everton’s only injury doubt.

It’s a different story for Man United, with Carrick unable to call on Matthijs de Ligt, Amad and new signing Carlos Baleba – while Manuel Ugarte is set to miss most of the season after suffering a serious knee injury playing for Uruguay at the World Cup.

Mason Mount is also a doubt for the visitors.

While United didn’t do any transfer business in the final days of the window, Everton saw notable moves in and out of the club.

Jack Grealish is back on loan from Manchester City and could go straight into the side as the Toffees begin life without Iliman Ndiaye, who headed the other way in a permanent deal.

Grealish ready to face Man United

Following his loan more from Man City, Grealish is eager to play and could start against United.

He said: “It feels so good. I’m so happy. I think I’m at my best at everything in life, not just football, when I feel loved. That’s what the manager has given me, what my teammates have given me and especially what the fans have given me.

“Every time I see an Everton fan, it’s just pure love and the way they’ve welcomed me since that first game against Leeds, I’ll never forget that. It means a lot to me and hopefully I’ve made a few Everton fans happy.

“I had a perfect time here for the first six months, then I stayed around after I got injured. I’ve been watching all the Everton games in pre-season and since the season started.

“Now I feel ready to go. I’m ready to start training tomorrow and prepare for the games.”

Meanwhile, Carrick hailed Fernandes following his hat-trick last time out.

He said: “He showed his quality. Bruno did what he’s good at. He’s had a big week winning awards. Three goals and a fantastic performance.

“There were a lot of positives with and without the ball but it’s the whole mentality dealing with it and trusting each other. Last week didn’t go for us and we accept that. Today was a lot better.

“We’re not getting carried away. We were down last week but everything wasn’t wrong. We can still get better, we haven’t cracked it. We’ll get ready for the next.”
