Where to watch Community Shield: FA make change in 20-year first with Erling Haaland set to return for Man City

A rare Community Shield clash takes place this weekend as Arsenal face rivals Manchester City away from Wembley.

The Gunners feature after winning their first Premier League title in 22 years, coming up against Man City, who lifted the FA Cup.

Both Premier League giants are going to want to get their hands on the first domestic trophy available this campaign.

Their star-studded squads are more than used to playing at Wembley, but in a major change made by the FA, that is not where this year’s game is going to be played.

Due to scheduling issues, the Community Shield will not be played at Wembley and instead at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff.

It is the first time in 20 years that this fixture has been played at the ground in Wales.

The game between Arsenal and Man City has been moved as music artist The Weeknd is booked in for concerts at Wembley.

So, Mikel Arteta and Enzo Maresca are going to have to travel with their squads over to Wales for the traditional season opener.

Where to watch Community Shield

The Community Shield will take place on Sunday, August 16.

Kick-off at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff is set for 3pm.

Fans can watch the game live on TV on TNT Sports, while the action will also be available to watch online via HBO Max.

Community Shield: Haaland returns

Erling Haaland has not featured at all in Man City’s pre-season so far, having had an extended post-World Cup break.

But he’s set to return to City training on Wednesday, along with record signing Elliot Anderson, Nico O’Reilly and Marc Guehi.

That only gives Haaland and the English trio five days back with the squad before the Community Shield takes place.

So, will they come straight back into the starting line-up? Or will Maresca take his time reintroducing them?

They are likely to play some part in the game, but it would be a boost for Arsenal if Haaland and co. weren’t to start.

Omar Marmoush scored twice in City’s win over Atletico Madrid last time out, so the Egyptian could get the nod up front.
