Where Mets’ Juan Soto is hitting in return to lineup from calf strain

New York Mets star Juan Soto is set to return from injury on Wednesday against the Minnesota Twins. The Mets are in the middle of a 12-game losing streak, so they are certainly excited for Soto’s return. Soto is going to DH in his return, and the Mets star is hitting second in the lineup.

Soto’s return will not completely save the Mets, but it will help matters. He is one of the best hitters in all of MLB and is more than capable of changing the dynamic of a lineup. The ball club’s offense has especially struggled, so Soto’s return is crucial to say the least.

The Mets are currently last in all of MLB in runs scored with a mark of 75. They are 25th in home runs, 25th in batting average and last in OPS. The ball club features talent in the lineup — even without Soto — but consistent success has clearly been difficult to find for the team early in 2026.

Soto was swinging the bat well before suffering his calf injury, as he was hitting .355 to go along with a .928 OPS and three extra-base hits in eight games played.

New York could certainly get back on track. It is only April. Nevertheless, it is worth mentioning that the Mets have the worst record in baseball at 7-16 overall. They were playing a respectable brand of baseball before the 12-game losing streak.

Juan Soto and the Mets will do everything they can to snap the losing streak on Wednesday against the Twins.
