Carson Benge continues his incredible rookie campaign with another achievements throughout the New York Mets’ 2026 campaign.

Benge has garnered serious attention as one of the best performing rookies this year. Despite the team’s overall struggles, Benge has managed to keep fans positive with his highlights throughout the ups and downs of the regular season.

What’s significant about his talent is his playmaking. Whether it’s getting home runs or stealing bases, he can do a lot as he boasts 16 homers and 19 stolen bases to his tally. This wound up having him a join an exclusive class of past and present Mets stars, seeing him pair up with Darryl Strawberry, per reporter Jon Morosi.

How Carson Benge, Mets played against Giants

Carson Benge and the Mets enjoyed a great night in their series opener against the San Francisco Giants, coasting to a 10-6 win at home.

New York got off to a strong start, taking control of the game with a 7-0 lead after two innings. The visitors never recovered from those defensive breakdowns, attempting a rally that proved to be too late for them to pull off.

Rafael Devers got the Giants as close as he could, getting a three-run homer in the eighth inning. That was the only home run his squad got in the game, showing how New York outmatched them offensively to open the series.

Nolan McLean started on the mound as he lasted six innings and earned the win. He struck out seven batters while conceding six hits and two earned runs.

New York improved to a 64-77 record on the season but remain at the bottom of the NL East Division standings. They are behind the Washington Mystics and the Miami Marlins at the moment.

The Mets will look forward to Game 2 of their series against the Giants. That contest will take place on Sept. 5 at 4:10 p.m. ET.
