When Eagles will induct owner Jeffrey Lurie into Hall of Fame

The Philadelphia Eagles are just weeks away from kicking off their 2026 season, currently wrapping up their participation in training camp. The pressure is on for the Eagles to bounce back this year after an ugly Wild Card exit this past season.

Now, the team has announced when franchise owner Jeffrey Lurie will be inducting himself into the team’s Hall of Fame.

“Congratulations to Chairman and CEO Jeffrey Lurie, this year’s inductee into the Eagles Hall of Fame! He will be honored at halftime of our game on Monday, October 26,” reported the team on X, formerly Twitter.

Fans in the comment section were quick to point out that team owners ultimately decide who ends up getting inducted into team Halls of Fame or Rings of Honor, so Lurie ended up deciding to make this move for himself, but he is far from the first NFL owner to follow such a tradition.

Lurie bought the Eagles over three decades ago and has helped turn them into one of the most well-run organizations in the NFL since then, with the team having won two Super Bowls in the last decade and consistently being among the most competitive squads in the league, with very few dry spells throughout his tenure.

This offseason, the Eagles have made some big changes, headlined by the trade of AJ Brown to the New England Patriots and the hiring of offensive coordinator Sean Mannion to replace Kevin Patullo, among others.

The moves have come as the Eagles look to put their agitated fanbase at ease on the heels of a frustrating 2025 season.

The Eagles’ new campaign is set to get underway on September 13 against the Washington Commanders.
