Wednesday horse racing tips
Chester
- 1.30: Wait Geordie 6/4 (1pt)
- 2.05: Al Shabab Storm 33/1 each-way (1pt)
- 2.35: Amelia Earhart 9/4 (1pt)
- 3.40: Ruby’s Angel 11/2 each-way (1pt)
Wait Geordie
Adonius has to carry a 5lb penalty after winning his Class 2 race last time out.
Hickory Lad makes a quick reappearance from winning just last week at Musselburgh, but was the 4/11 favourite that day.
However, Wait Geordie trained by Hugo Palmer, who has a great strike-rate at Chester comes into this as the huge favourite after beating Dowman at Bath on debut.
The two-year-old colt is benefitted by having Oisin Murphy on board, who himself is operating close to a 20% strike-rate.
Al Shabab Storm
Has switched from trainers Andrew Balding to Marco Botti to Michael Appleby.
But they have all seen how well he goes at Chester, albeit was out of form last season.
Goes well back from a break and almost always impresses at Chester, loving the sharpness of the track.
Down to a dangerous weight coming into a competitive handicap and could be a surprise at the price when carrying top-weight.
Amelia Earhart
Ryan Moore ended 2025 with the best strike-rate at Chester and comes here on board the second favourite Amelia Earthart for trainer Aidan O’Brien.
The Camelot filly finally got her win in a maiden at Leopardstown last time out and is set to improve on her first start for this season well up in trip which should suit much more.
Ruby’s Angel
Comes back off a long winter break for trainer Hugo Palmer and with Tom Marquand up, which is all encouraging.
She is a short price but still a solid each-way play having placed well behind Azleet before winning well at York in the Ebor Festival on her last run over 6f.
The latest effort when placing fourth of four can be somewhat disregarded as she didn’t seem to suit the step up in trip.
