Timberwolves star Ayo Dosunmu’s big offseason continues with epic engagement after $112 million contract

Just over a month after signing a $112 million contract, Minnesota Timberwolves star Ayo Dosunmu added to his offseason accomplishments by proposing to and getting engaged to his girlfriend, Jalen.

The two announced their engagement on social media with a joint post on Instagram. Their caption read, “Till the end of time,” and featured the infinity sign and a red heart emoji.

Congratulations to the happy couple! The proposal took place on the water, as Dosunmu got on one knee while they were surrounded by white and pink flowers.

It has been an eventful past few months for Dosunmu. The Timberwolves qualified for the playoffs, beating the Denver Nuggets in the first round in six games. However, they would be eliminated in the following round by the San Antonio Spurs, losing in six games.

Dosunmu was big in the postseason. While he only averaged 14.8 points per game in the regular season, he averaged 21.8 in the first round against the Nuggets.

This was Dosunmu’s first season with the Timberwolves. He was acquired via trade in February 2026 from the Chicago Bulls, who drafted him in the second round of the 2021 NBA Draft.

During his time with the Bulls, Dosunmu was named to the All-Rookie Second Team. He played in 324 games with the Bulls, starting a career-high 51 games during the 2022-23 season.

His efforts with the Timberwolves have been rewarded. They clearly want to keep him around for the long haul after re-signing him to a five-year, $112 million contract.

The Timberwolves are hoping to get past the second round of the playoffs this year. Minnesota has been making a lot of moves this offseason, including acquiring LaMelo Ball to pair him with Anthony Edwards. The team also has Donte DiVincenzo, who will eventually come back from a torn Achilles injury.
