The new season is still two months away, and it looks like Philadelphia 76ers guard VJ Edgecombe cannot wait any longer to play again.

Edgecombe is coming off an impressive campaign in his rookie year, averaging all-around numbers of 16.0 points, 5.6 rebounds, 4.2 assists, and 1.2 steals. He was named to the All-Rookie First Team, living up to the hype of being the No. 3 pick.

The 21-year-old fireball was the special guest at a basketball clinic. He made sure to give a young boy a memorable experience, putting him on a poster with a two-handed slam.

Edgecombe will remain a key cog for the 76ers, even with the additions of LeBron James and Jaylen Brown. While his scoring opportunities might be lessened, he should only get better by learning from the All-Star veterans and going against them in practice.

Chemistry is the biggest question mark for Philadelphia, but Edgecombe has shown that he can be impactful even if he does not have the ball all the time, utilizing his speed, energy, and athleticism to contribute in different ways.

Plus, as the young boy realized, Edgecombe does not go easy on any opponent.
