Following the 5-4 victory, PSG boss Enrique conducted his media duties in the tunnel at the Parc des Princes.

However, he was interrupted by his opposite number as he waited to speak to CBS Sports.

Kompany had been forced to watch the match from the stands due to a one-match touchline ban.

The Belgian was issued with the suspension after picking up his third yellow card of the campaign against Real Madrid.

As a result of not being in the dugout, Kompany had been unable to shake hands with Enrique at full-time.

The pair were finally able to embrace in the tunnel following their behind-the-scenes encounter.

Kompany admitted he had not been a fan of watching in the stands, though.

When asked by Enrique if he had enjoyed it, he replied: “I don’t like it. I really don’t like it.”

The pair then laughed as they went their separate ways following the match.

It came after a record-breaking night in the French capital as PSG established a narrow first leg lead.

The home side had led 5-2 early in the second half, though, before a Bayern fightback ahead of next week’s second leg.

PSG will travel to the Allianz Arena on Wednesday, May 6 as they bid to reach a second successive final.

Bayern had opened the scoring through Harry Kane, with the England captain converting from 12 yards.

They were pegged back by Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, though, before Joao Neves gave the home side the lead.

Although Michael Olise equalised before the break, Ousmane Dembele’s penalty in first half stoppage time restored PSG’s advantage.

Their lead was extended before the hour mark as Kvaratskhelia and Dembele scored two minutes apart to put the hosts 5-2 in front.

Dayot Upamecano and Luis Diaz later reduced the deficit to leave the tie finely poised ahead of the second leg.

Speaking after the game, Enrique said: “It was amazing. I think it was the best match I have ever managed as a coach. It had amazing rhythm, trying to play offensive football, trying to show their quality. I think everybody had fun watching the match. I’m happy because we won.

“I have been managing for more than 15 years, and I have to say it was the most exciting [match]. It is important to show that that is the way to try to play football. OK, we are not happy as a coach when you concede four goals, but I’m happy because we won.

It is the first time in a European semi-final that both teams have scored four or more goals.

Meanwhile, it is only the second time-ever both sides have scored four in a Champions League knockout stage tie.

The contest is also the highest-scoring Champions League semi-final of all-time after the clubs shared nine goals.

The winners of the two last four clashes will meet in the final on Saturday, May 30 at the Puskas Arena in Budapest.

‘Difficult for me to watch’

Kompany was able to conduct media interviews after the game, but admitted it was a tough watch from the stands.

“It was different for me to watch,” he told TNT Sports.

“I would have preferred to be on the pitch, going with the emotion of the game and trying to help. We suffered but we were dangerous. Five goals away from home in the Champions League normally means you’re out but the chances we had, made us believe.

“If you’ve got nothing with the game at 5-2 then it’s hard to make a case to turn it around but being as dangerous as we were then I feel like it’s about getting your head back in the game and taking our chances.

“I’ve seen a lot of good defending today but the game is such fine margins, you either go full into the battles, or retreat fully. The in between doesn’t work against that level of players. We’re at home with 75,000 people in the stadium [next week], I want more. We want that weight to be there and then the Allianz Arena is a place where anything can happen.”
