After the Indiana Fever’s loss to the Minnesota Lynx, guard Sophie Cunningham took to Instagram (IG) with a captionless post that said a thousand words.

Her latest photo and video dump showed moments from her recent games, including some of her signing autographs and taking pictures with young fans.

She didn’t write a caption for the post, letting the pictures and videos do the talking. Cunningham has been the subject of public scrutiny for her comments about transgender athletes, causing a variety of responses.

Lynx coach Cheryl Reeve made a statement by wearing a shirt that read, “Trans Kids Belong,” during the Lynx’s game against the Fever.

The two even spoke pregame in a conversation that ended in smiles. So, it doesn’t appear there is any animosity between them, even if they appear to disagree on the subject.

The talk surrounding Cunningham began after an interview with ESPN was published recently. At one point, she dismissed the “MAGA Barbie” label put on her.

She said, “I want to protect young girls in a locker room, or young girls in sport who shouldn’t have to go against biological men,” during the interview, which caused a stir.

Cunningham has since doubled and tripled down on the comments. This has made her one of the most talked-about players in the WNBA this season.

She played 23 minutes in the Fever’s loss to the Lynx. She only scored three points, making her lone shot from downtown. This came after she scored double digits in both of the Fever’s last two wins against the Connecticut Sun and the Seattle Storm.

During the regular season, Cunningham has averaged 9.3 points, 2.3 rebounds, and 1.4 assists per game coming off a torn MCL injury suffered in August 2025. She has played in 29 games so far, starting three of them.
