Tyson Fury has change of heart on fight with Fabio Wardley or Daniel Dubois

Tyson Fury is no longer interested in facing either Fabio Wardley or Daniel Dubois.

Fury had previously declared he was interested in a future showdown with the victor of Wardley and Dubois’ heavyweight title clash.

Dubois scored an impressive win in a British classic which saw him recover from the canvas twice to taste victory in an all-out war.

The pair will now rematch with Wardley activating his contracted clause, but the victor then may look towards a clash with Fury.

But despite previously having one eye on proceedings for a showdown, the ‘Gypsy King’ believes he is a level above and is no longer keen.

He explained: “It’s like EFL League One versus UEFA Champions League,.

“Although they had a good fight together, we’ve seen what happens when Dubois steps up to the Premier League. They don’t really do anything for me.

“They’re very good fighting men, but there’s not a lot of avoided punches in there [between them].

“It’s just mainly giving and taking it. I’m not going to go off track.

“At my age now, I’ve got to capitalize on making as much as I can, while I can. You know what I mean?”

Despite Fury’s assessments, a showdown with Wardley or Dubois could still represent a big commercial opportunity.

And it would almost certainly give him the chance to become a three-time heavyweight world champion.

Fury set for warm-up fight then Joshua

But now for the Morecambe giant, plans will shift elsewhere.

Fury has signed on the dotted line for a long-awaited clash with Anthony Joshua, which will land later this year.

However it will now be subject to both powerhouses passing through warm-up fights unscathed.

Fury beat Arslanbek Makhmudov in April, but is still keen to maintain his activity.

The likes of Andy Ruiz Jr and Jarrell Miller were originally linked as potential options, but the former has been ruled out.

Although promoter Frank Warren has confirmed it will be a notable name.
