Tucker Kraft’s ACL injury fully in the past after latest training camp update

It felt like fate played a cruel joke on Green Bay Packers tight end Tucker Kraft last season.

In Week 8 against the Pittsburgh Steelers, Kraft logged a career-high 143 yards and two touchdowns. His strong performance was only appropriate, as the game was held on National Tight Ends Day.

In Week 9 against the Carolina Panthers, his season ended after suffering an ACL injury.

It was an unfortunate development for the 25-year-old Kraft. But he stayed resolute and pushed himself in his rehabilitation process. Now, he is well on his way to full recovery. On Wednesday, CBS 58 News’ Cameron Ezier reported that the fourth-year tight end is feeling great in training camp.

“We just talked to Tucker Kraft, who says he’s no longer on a rep count and doesn’t even have to worry about limitations anymore. He also said that he and the organization continue to be on the same page and want something to get done before the season,” wrote Ezier on X.

Kraft was taken off the PUP list in July, and he has progressed better than expected. He even welcomed the big hit on him in practice on Wednesday.

“That was a good hit. I haven’t had any contact like that since November 2nd. That was an opportunity for me to wake up. Season’s here!” said the third-round pick.

In eight games last season, Kraft tallied 30 receptions for 469 yards and six touchdowns. He could have had a breakout campaign if not for his ACL injury.

But that is now in the rearview mirror, and he is looking forward to making a significant impact anew for the Packers.

Green Bay will face the Minnesota Vikings in Week 1.
